MERCURY QUESTION?

ANYONE know if 1.87 gears from a 2.5 200xri efi, will fit in a BlackMax 2.5lter housing? Got one cheap on ebay thinkin it was what i need and now my mechanic tells me we wont know till he pops it open to see the shifting mechanism. Anyone know from experience?

he will ask for the seriel number! and i dont know the seriel number on the blackmax It will bolt up just not sure if my gears will work?

Hope thats the same news i get from mine. Thanks for takin the time to get me some info. The guy i bought it from on ebay claims its off a 2000 model efi. I dont care as long as it works! i won it for 75bucks with the prop shaft, Waterpump housing, shift, and gears, pinion and reverse are broke. If it works i will have some spare parts for sale if anyone needs one! Thanks again TBOB!

ball is rollin but up hill just cant seem to get people on the same page as me, i cant even wave a franklin in front of there noses to get them to move them at my speed

Well i got the serial numbers checked and it is a 2000 Model case! any idea if my gears will work, Early 90s model 200 xri, 2.5, The 2000 model is also a 200, 2.5 lter. TBOB< OR DIRT?

Wanted a little local input, He would ask for serial numbers ect, and i aint gotem! then i gotta get the number from the guy i got it from and bla, bla, then he would tell me maybe, bla, bla,bla he knows his chit but its to much back and forth
