I remember seeing this one here before.... What ratio of Seafoam and Quickclean per Gallon?

Also per Don:
From results I see with my customer's engines (very clean spark plugs and direct injectors), I recommend:
Quickleen: 1 oz. per six gallons of fuel
Marine Stabil: 1 oz. per 10 gallons of fuel (Mercury or Quicksilver Stabilizer good also- follow bottle instructions)
Seafoam (optional): 2 oz. per six gallons of fuel.

I "ammended" my ratio (for simplicity) some time back.
I recommend:
1oz Marine Stabil per 6 gallons fuel
1oz Quickleen per 6 gallons fuel
1-2oz Seafoam per 6 gallons fuel.

A few questions, since I just lost my third Mercury powerhead.
1. Do you reccomend that mix 100% of the time? If not, when?
2. Do you reccomend it starting during breakin?
3. If I run that cocktail and tell Mercury about it will they refuse to honor the warranty when my next powerhead blows, spins a sleave, sticks a piston, or just fades out?

1. Yes. And Mercury actually recommends the use of Fuel System Stabilizer and Quickleen FROM THE START.![]()
2. Yes. See #1.
3. The use of products in your engine cannot "void" your warranty (see Magnuson Moss Warranty Act). The manufacturer can "deny a claim", but only if the product you used CAUSED or CONTRIBUTED TO a failure. Since fuel stabilizer is recommended.... I'd be way more than surprised to see any problem in regard to Marine Stabil and/or SeaFoam. As for Quickleen- you'll NEVER ever hear any complaint there- it's recommended in owners manuals, technician training, and Service Bulletins.![]()
