    SLINGING IN DA RAIN

    Thanks!

CRAZY DAY for a bunch of WILD AND CRAZY GUYS...rain lightning rain thunder till noon.

Never thought under 9 would win, maybe 3rd but the larger bass left on vacation...
Had to run about 40 miles over the day as the rain stung my face...
strategy was to cover much more bank than anyone else...looking for a certain type of cover...
finally caught a few on my new Kistler 7-6 LTA but most on the custom painted Flat Maxx.

A good thing was to see three 19 year olds that fish hard since entering the club/open scene in late spring...Buddy Smith has already won a dozen club events!!!

(I did not catch a bass until I was 30...by then these 3 will dominate many area events)

    THE HEAT IS ONNNNNNNNN!!

Please take precautions...a guy with some bass to weigh last Sunday DID NOT make the weigh...the heat got him off the lake...it was that bad!!!

You know what to do...dress, shades, wider brim hat, hi SPF sunblock (I wear long sleeves and pants ALL year)...at least some water plus 8-10 cans of drinks...drink BEFORE you launch, then every hour starting about 8-9am...make time!

Radical things include going into the lake up to your knees on both legs, dipping ya hat, dipping a small towel and wrapping it around your neck...or crank up and run down the lake for 5 minutes while sipping a drink...

Of course a common sense club would weigh at 1pm during the summer but only 1 here does that...the rest think its an IRONMAN contest...hey, 2 hours less a month...life will go on and a lot less risk all the way around.

Re: CBC RESULTS JUNE 19 (reelman)

I try to drink at least 80 ounces of water everyday, especially during this time of year. 120 ounces is ideal for me. Dehydration is no joke

Re: CBC RESULTS JUNE 19 (BIG GREEN)

The guys today had the good common sense to weigh at 1:30pm instead of the usual 3pm...water hit 95.9...never seen that in June in my 30 years of fishing.
I drank a huge iced Dr. Pepper with 4 chicken strips during the 30 minute run home.
Its 97.6 on my carport remore sensor in the shade at the moment.
