I might finally get my boat back after 10 looooooooooonnnnnnnnnnggggggggggg months. They called me from Greenwell Springs Marine yesterday to get my approval to get the parts to finish it up...should be ready some time this week....

I gotta give Mike and them some credit there too if I haven't already...when the alarm started hitting last Friday, I called around (I called Mike first, but he was running a boat) to almost every Mercury dealer in the area...no one could even put it on the computer to tell me what was wrong, and if it was something simple (mind you, this was a 5 minute job)....Inside of 90 seconds of me pulling up to Greenwell Springs Marine, Mike had one of his mechanics out with a laptop in the rain to tell me what was wrong with it...unfortunately, the problem required me to leave it with them, but he could have just done the same thing all the rest of them did....anyway, just wanted to give them a and let you guys know...

BTW...the last time I had seen Mike or spoke with him was around 8 years ago when he rebuilt my 200 efi when he was moonlighting on the side...so he had no clue who I was, and treated me the same as he would have any of you...

What the heck was wrong with it?????

Blown powerhead....apparently he had to mine the ore to melt down to cast the rods, pistons, and rings...then widdled them into shape using a swiss army knife... Keep in mind it wasn't at the dealership getting that done...they are just fixing the electronic issues with it that caused it to blow in the first place...

But on the flip side, the guy that rebuilt the powerhead does do excellent work, so other than being slow, it was done right...

Maybe they forged the new pistons in the fires of Mount Doom and you have the rings to control the world now.
