    Keep an eye out!

I am tired of dumping $$$$$$$$$$$ into this yamaha. The skeeter is fine FYI! Its the dam MOTOR! I will be in the market for a new boat, if the wifes says ok...Looking in the $12,000-$15,000 range. Let me know what you know!

If the boat is good, just get a new motor. I'm waiting to see how the SHO does this year and may by one next spring.

Re: Keep an eye out! (fishnhunt)

How old is the engine? I went through a spell a year or so ago with the power pack issues. I finally took it somewhere that ran the boat and found the issue pretty quick. This Yammy is the best engine I ever had. I have always been a Merc guy. I don't know about the smaller 4 strokes performance wise, but i do know the guys I know with the hpdi's and opti's have more issues than me. All I have to be sure I have is fuel, fire, air, and water to keep it cool and it will run. If you fouled a plug on an opti its to the shop for a replacement and code reset. It happened to us last year.

2003 v-max. How much did the power packs cost you and did you fix it yourself?

IF experience is needing a change of clothes after crossing the lake and turning the wheel a full turn to take a curve then I hope "experience" is something I never grow into
