Can any of you guys offer some assistance on what mapping cards to use for central la, down to the spillway area. i have a 788ci unit and the base map sucks, what navionics chips work best for our areas as far as details go. i fish Saline and Red river area, and the basin.
please help.
I have an 06 card and there is not much on it. Even the newer ones don't have much. It seems most lakes are in north Louisiana. The coverage of Louisiana as a whole sucks, IMO. For the Red River they only cover pools 3-5, and there is nothing for Saline. Not sure about the basin. I have lowrance units and what they have is just outlines of the lakes and rivers. Before spending all that money check it out to see if it fits your needs. Now if we lived in Texas it would be worth it with all the lakes they have covered. It looks like they forgot about us.

He has the HB units and I don't think they have an independent mapping program like Map Create. When itcomes to mapping, Louisiana sucks, as usual.

I use hot maps gold premium in my 788. Good coverage of La. incl. toledo bend so. la. as well. Shows the boat lanes for toledo bend and sam rayburn. You need to get map S
