    Here I Go Again

    Is It just me..... we buy our products based on availability favorites and whatever else....You really don't get to pick a trailer when you buy a package so why is this statement hitting me so funny
    "I have never had a problem with EZ Loader before at all. I have had 4 of there trailers and not a problem1. They did warranty a trailer I had that had the single leaf spring on it. They found they sucked and they recalled them."
    I took this from a post and its not to hurt someones feelins but a TRAILER FAN hmmm "not a problem one" "warranty on a sucky trailer" wouldn't that be a major problem... Do some people get so jacked up about a boat brand that they think everything that comes with it is Golden
    What are your thoughts on this one guys

    Yes a lot of people neglect to look at trailer quality when they buy. Me i hate tube trailers as they can rust from the inside out. I would much rather have one made from channel iron like they all used to. also the componets on them. Another reason i like cats is they build their own in house for each particular boat. I can tell you a good qaulity painted channel trailer will last a lifetime in the worst conditions. That being said it has to be painted well. I have some painted trailers out there i did 15 years ago and still look good. But when i painted them i used a good epoxy primer a sealer then base coat clear coat on them. A little pricey but worth the initial cost as they usually dont have to ever be done again.A lot offer the gator hyde now and its seems to be pretty good but hasnt been out long enough to convince me yet. I still like a quality automotive clear on top it does well. i am fixing to do my champ trailer but its a tube so it can still rust from the inside out. the galvanized ones are no better if they are tube trailers as they dont get treated inside as they do outside. Aluminum would be the way to go but kind of pricey as well and they tend to look bad after a few years in the salt water(brackish). I just painted an alum. one for a friend for his 45k bay boat. Now it should look and last good for many many years.

    Channel is the way to go, my old Skeeter had a painted channel trailer and used it in brackish water for years, still looked good when I sold it. My Bullet trailer is a 95 and really all it needs is a new paint job from it fading

    Well My point was I was trolling and a member offered his .02 because the thread started with a guy unhappy with his trailer that came with brand x boat.......02 guy is tooooo gung ho about brand x boat if he is going to back the trailer as well...then states he never had an issue....Then the next statement was a recall cuz the trailer sucked...that would be an issue
    My point in this....when you offer input make sure you know where you are going

    Doug, you are right on the money about them trailers.I have had a tube trailer come apart on me in less than 5 yrs.I love my channel trailer and will never own another tube.

    I bought a Sprint once. I made them change the painted trailer for a galvanized trailer. Cost me a couple hundred bucks, but was worth it.

    Yep, that post was from a dim wit. My champion came with a tube painted trailer Save me up a few bucks and get a alum trailer eventually

    I don't guess I read that in the same sense as you did...I took it as "He's" never had a problem with any of the ones he had...and that they recalled the one with the 1 sucky leaf spring on it. Not necessarilly that he had a problem with it...


    Also...for the fact that you pointed out that this guy was so 'gung ho about Brand X boat', could make one think that you obviously dislike said brand of boat as well as said brand of boat owners, hence the reason you thought this post was stupid enough to start a new topic about it!

    Now, with that being said...What brand of boat was it???

    My BIL has a '98 Triton with a tube trailer. Both side bunks had to be re-welded. and on a trip back from Table Rock, one of the one leaf- leaf springs broke and caused him to call a flatbed to come pick him up out in the middle of BFE. He replaced them himself with multi-leaf springs. I will only own a boat with C-channel iron or aluminum trailers.

    nope My point is like what you have but don't go overboard...The quote I took the guy was attacking the one who was having an issue. The originator even said he would buy brand x again but not the trailer.....and would opt out on a couple of other things he disliked...
    Love your boat but if you are posting on a rant realize that brand x has no control over the trailer mfg. How many trailer companies do you know that recall trailers for replacement...And yes I call this and issue. Leave that part out and he would have made his point
    I don't dislike the brand and will not say which....The brand i like least made a model change I would actually concider if my mind wasn't made

    Anyone use one of the Champion or McClain aluminum trailers? Galvanized or Aluminum should be the standard down here. If I knew they could set it up right I would sell the painted trailer in a minute and put the bass boat on one. No more worries about where to launch.

    Both are doing well...I think I would go Champion as it is built La. style. I haven't been there myself. but I have seen a couple of boats on them

    I looked at a Champion Trailer and a McClain Trailer. I just sold my trailer today actually. Tube painted trailer on my Triton. This week I'm getting a new aluminum trailer. I went with a Marine Master made for a Triton that Thomas Marine has in Gonzales. I'm getting my boat put on it this week. Only reason I'm going with it is cause he has it in stock and he was actually the best deal around. Same price as McClain but hundreds less than any Magic Tilt dealer. I can keep you guys updated after I get it this week.

    not sure I really understand the post here, but I will Justin Wilson guarantee yo ass's that your boats life span spends over 90% of its time on the trailer, and most folks prolly 99% of the time. You better damn sure look awful hard at the trailer whether you buy a used or new rig.

    I learned this the hard way. I'll never have another painted tube trailer again.
