    toledo bend?

Whats up guys, just got back from spending the weekend with friends and family on tb, we had a good time but the bite was tough. didn't get to fish as much as I would have liked due to the wind and having to spend some quaility time with the fam but a good relaxing weekend none the less. I plan on making a FISHING trip in the next few weeks, I know this could be some classified information but can you guys give me some "spots" to fish. I have a map that I bought and I have been asking around and circling some bays and flats mentioned. Just checking to see if anybody has any information that i don't have already, I live in Alexandria, about 1.5 hours and it's a decent haul to go blind casting. Thanks for any help. If anybody is in the Alexandria area and wants to hit some of the local lakes let me know. Always up for a trip. thanks guys

I go blind fishing there. Go just to fish something different. I would say a few day trips a year. Hell it takes me just about an hour to get to Saline (Cross Bayou) down those gravel roads. An extra 30 mins wouldn't hurt me a bit.

Thanks, just went 2 weeks ago. Hit the cold front, lake was too rough to run. Only caught a couple small ones at Turtle Beach.
Greg (kbrance070) might be able to help you, he has been up there with Toledo Bend Jim.

Thanks keno, ill be looking for your rig on the water. I know the lake is so big that you can probably catch fish anywhere but there seems to be a few well known spots that hold fish. thanks for sharing. i will check out that point the next time im out.

    Re: toledo bend? (JavelinBasser)

I fished a few hours on the Bend this morning, and caught 8 keepers. Caught a few at the mouth of Pirates around the Islands, and the rest came off Cypress Trees in water so shallow the fish almost need legs! All but one fish was caught on a Chatter style bait. Did not stay around Pirates long cause after I caught a 4 pounder I had two boats on me like stink on $h!t! Don't know how much longer the fish will be on the trees, but that's two weeks in row I found them shallow like that.

    Re: toledo bend? (Robert)

Thanks Robert. I was able to catch 2 decent fish last weekend real shallow on a sweet beaver california 420 color. I am going to head back in about two weeks on the new moon and try a few spots I have heard about. Thanks for all the help, at least now I'll have a few spots to check out.
