We are going out of the east state park ramp and I would imagine the weigh in will be around 3. Larry Brumley

18.8 to win....young guy can't remember his last name. Rob ...something... I think.
I take back all the bad things I said about Perry it is better than it has been in the last 4-5 years. I ended up in 6th with 4 fish almost 14lbs..... Never found the 3rd 18incher but probably had 10-12 in the 16-17 inch range....the 2 slot fish I had were 17 1/2 and 17 3/4....
I am sure it will tail off as fishing pressure will take its toll

Larry is correct. The lake will fall off quickly as pressure increases with all the attention it has been getting.
It was a tough day for me. Slow bite in the morning, and even slower in the afternoon. Cold front dropped the water temps to 61, 62 degrees in my area. Had three fish to weigh in: a 15, 17 1/2 and a 4.96lb. 9lbs and change. Congrats to the guys who figured them out and caught a limit.
All that lake needs is a health shap population like grand. Had a fun weekend as a first time boater.
It actually needs much more than that. It usually has a very good shad population. I think the problem this year with it (and many other KS lakes) is that it is so low that when the eggs hatch the fry won't have anyplace to get away from predators. In the years past we have had very good water levels to help the fry.
The flood of 2005 (when we had all that rain in a matter of hours) gave that lake a tremendous kick in the pants for the bass population. Quite a few ponds either washed out or over flowed spilling out alot of bass and other fish that made their way into the lake via creeks and the deleware river. It seemed that over night there were 5lbers everywhere. In my opinion it's on the down hill slide as far as bass fishing goes. The bass fishing was fantastic from 05 to about 08, 09 or so and it still is good but nothing like it was during those few years. Within those years I had two bass well over 8 and lots of 5's. Similar to the phenomenom that happened to the lakes out west such as Cedar Bluff and Webster. But, this is just my opinion.
Why couldn't yesterday have been like today. Its beautifu outside.
Beau Branine took 1st and will be a boater on next years State Team, he also had big bass. Jason Benjamin was 2nd, and he will be a non boater on next years team. I'll post the results soon.
