So what trashes your water guage? I noticed this past weekend that the one on my '01 TR20 Triton zeroes at 30 psi and when I'm running at about 3/4 throttle I've now got it buried beyond the max reading of 45 psi. What would cause the thing to set itself at 30 psi as zero. It's obviously not plugged or the indicator would not move. So, I'm puzzled!![]()

Should have been at the new YC lake. I had two good days there over the weekend.![]()

Heck, I've never drained mine. I didn't realize the water was all the way to the guage...just figured that the water pressurized the gas/air in the line and that's what the guage actually saw.....air, not water. Looks like I'll be changing mine out then! Dang!
i'm going to put a drain hose on mine when i redo it![]()
still setting in the same place it was 6 months ago.. that's my next project![]()

there is a way to fix the gauge after it has frozen, the brass tube inside , swells up from it being frozen, I learned how to fix it
since gauges got so costly, onward to 60,000
Install a Ball Valve to drain it........thery make fitting to go inline with it then drop it down with valve to drain it
I dont have to worry about it on mine anymore since I have Opti and Smartcraft.......WP is live from the ECM and the motor.![]()
you can do a search on BBC.....there have been a lot fo threads about them![]()
Thanks Ryan. Yeah, I understood that part, but was really asking Bulldog to spill the beans on how to fix a broken gauge as he stated above.![]()
take the gauge out of the dash and throw it away![]()

no just joking , take the nut loose from the back of the gage, some will come apart , others may be glued , if it is glued cut the gauge ( plastic part into) then you will see the brass tube that has swelled from being frozen, take pliers and slowly squeeze it in severl places not just in one place , each time look at the gage and see if the needle is back to zero, take aluminum tape and tape the 2 halves back together , and replace nut and replace it in the dash , no one will see the tape as it will be under the dash, if I can get the wife to let me use her camera I will take some pics to show you step, by step, need to do my sons , onward to 60,000
Thanks bulldog....if you can get the pics, would sure appreciate them. I'm a visual guy!![]()
