    08 250 pro xs update

Took my boat out for the first time after a new coil. I also pumped the bulb for the first time before starting. I could tell an immediate difference in this motor. It only has 16 hours on it but always ran rough until I gave it gas and it would then run fine then later would not go over 1200 rpms. Anyway, all seems better now after the coil replacement and it sounds much better. I must have had a bad coil from the beginning and it kept getting worse.

Jim, I am happy your motor is finally running. I hope that you don't have any other problems. I have the same motor as you and have replaced 2 coils. For mine to run without missing at the beginning I have to pump the bulb every time I start it. I think these are fine motors with a few kinks

Although i bleed mercury black i wish they would do something about the coil problem To me its totally unacceptable to have parts made in china on a piece of equipment that costs as much as an outboard

Update....Since the coil issues and replacement, my motor(250Pro xs) has ran great....No issues. Been several trips.

Still believe merc needs to have a recall, but I don't feel as queasy taking off for a longer run now. Longest run I have made is 20 miles. Motor ran great.

Btw, I only use 100% gas and I have no issue with the primer bulb. Never had to prime it.

I can explain it to you but I can\'t understand it for you
