I am a little lost here on the sport master lower unit if the exhaust comes out by the prop shaft how does that not interfere with a pro et prop performance meaning exhaust gases on the blades? The through hub of regular props the exhaust goes through the hub once you get on plane.
It actually does, to some extent. This area is a little outside of my "specialty"... so I'm going to see if "Redline" (Bob) cares to comment....

When the boat is sitting at rest there is some exhaust that comes out above the water line the rest recieves back pressure from the water. When ya go for hole shot there is a push of exhaust from the motor and exhaust is pushed to the lowest point in the motor or out the lower unit.
This is what helps the prop get spinning in the water and the prop then grabes the water to push the boat foward.
Once this happens the exhaust then goes out the pathes of least resistance which is above the prop where the mid hits the lower unit and don't effect the prop..
At least this is what I believe happens on my motor..
