Harvey county east

Due to truck problems we couldnt make it to the MLWA today so we went to Harvey county east. Alex had a nice walleye right up to the boat and his dad caught a small white bass. Water temps were between 45-51 degrees.

Not the best fishing but beautiful weather made it a great day

there's some pretty good saugeye fishing on that dam there Jay! At those temps they may have been there a week ago though, they kinda get up there earlier than walleye do. nice little lake close to home huh?

That was initially the plan but we weren't able to.

jay my buddy is the park ranger down there i fish that lake alot and the population of blacks is not very good the lake looks amazing but its nothin to get excited bout now the crappie on the other hand are excellent same with saugeye

Yeah we never slaughter them out there but we usually do ok.

Have found quality walleye/saugeye for sure.

I haven't been there in probably 10-plus years, but we fished it all the time back in high school. That is where I cut my teeth on bass fishing, and if you guys never got to fish it back in the mid to late 90s, you missed out on a great little lake to fish. We rarely went a trip without a fish in the 4 lb class and lots of 15-18" chunks. All different kinds of structure and you could fish about any way you wanted. Sounds like the bass fishing has gone downhill, which is too bad. Wouldn't mind fishing it again for old time's sake...

My family goes camping out there a lot and if I catch 5 in a weekend I consider it good.

it took 15 -16 pounds last year at the youth State Qualifier.. but Brady was the only one to have that kinnda luck , most blanked i never had my boat in over 4" of water
