    Anybody good with wiring repair close to the kc area???

    My wiring is cut on my si unit, the transducer cord.......Ive heard you can repair them if you know what your doing, which i dont, lol....

    I dont beleive I would repair wiring to an SI unit or it may effect how well it reads.

    It can be repaired but like Ryan said its not a good idea with a SI unit. It wont read right.

    yea your probably right....thats what i thought you woud say, lol....I was just trying to save about 200$$$$.....I will start looking for a used one....Thanks guys....anybody have a tranducer for the older 987si lying around??

    I can tell you from Experience that I repaired a wire loom to puck transducer that was mounted ona T/M for guy.......it didnt last long & he was reading Bottom at 2 feet deep in 30 feet of water.

    if it was inside the Hull I'd say go for it.....but being it is eposed to water all the time.....there really is no connector that is 100% water proof.......there are some that are high $ that will seal themsleves up.....but only a matter of time & will not work again & back to buying a loom for it.
