    Can't get above 2200 RPMs

I have a 2008 ProXS 250. Launched today and headed out to the channel to run the lake. Got out in the channel, stepped into the throttle, and the motor just bogged. I couldn't get over 2200 RPMS. No warning horns; no message on the SmartCraft gauges. Anybody have a clue?

Agreed- a Spark Test on ALL SIX CYLINDERS (at the same time, utilizing a Spark Board Tester) would be in order.

The same thing happened to me last week. My motor is a 2008 Pro xs 250. It happened to me about 10 miles from the ramp and all I could do is to idle in. I had no warning or alarm. It is in the shop now and I am anxious to find out what is wrong. When you find out your problem let us know. They said mine was not a coil but they haven't really looked at it yet.

Good call on the coil. Number 1 cylinder bad coil. New coil won't be here until next Tuesday. Looks like no prefishing for me this weekend.

    Don,
I did a Diagnostic test at a Mercury dealer the other day and it said "100% power".
Does that mean that all the spark plugs are in order?

That means that at the time, the engine was not in "Guardian" (and 100% power was available). The PCM has no reference to (or interraction with) the spark plugs themselves.
