I'm sure this has been answered before but I couldnt find it. I've just purchased my first optimax and would like to know what oil is best for this motor, I would rather burn prem plus because I have a case on hand.
Thanks

Not to highjack this thread or anything, but I have a similar question. I just bought an 04' Opti 225 that has had Premium Plus run in it since it was new. I see the reccomendation for the Optimax oil, but my local mechanics said that the Premium Plus was excellent oil and fine for my motor. Would you recommend switching to Optimax oil at this point, even though it has had premium plus run through it for 200hrs? Thanks alot

Yes, I would recommend Optimax DFI oil for your "Standard" 225 Optimax. That's what the engine was designed to run... and calibrated for.![]()
