Thanks guys. Yep Mike, I did settle for a Merc. At least it's not an Optipop.![]()
But really, they're all just time bombs.
When this one blows, maybe I'll be able to afford an ETEC. Until then, I'll treat this one nice and enjoy having a bass boat.
Yep, that Photoshop is brutal on gelcoat!

"Success is never owned, it is rented, and the rent is due every day."
It's an Eyra which Bass Cat came out with in the 150 Hp limit days of BASS to be the ultimate performing 150 tournament rig. BASS's decision to later go to the 250 Hp max led to it's demise as tournament fishermen went with larger rigs bigger motors. A great little tournament rig. I wanted one back in the day. Congrats Casey, great looking boat![]()
As Larry said, it's an Eyra. It's an 18-footer like the Sabre model, but with a little deeper hull design to handle bigger water.
It was the first Basscat with the rounded top cap and their patented recessed trolling motor pedal tray. Since it was targeted for tournament fishermen, it's loaded to the hilt with all the bells and whistles. Pretty neat little boat.
Can't wait to catch some fish out of it.
Thanks for the compliments guys. Wait till I get it cleaned up and in the sun. Pretty dusty in this photo. She must have been garaged all her life. No oxidation in the gel coat at all. A few dings and scratches here and there, though.
