i recently purchased a 2002 ranger 522 powered by 250 pro xb. the previous owner used 87 octane fuel and left a full tank of fuel. should i or can i add an octane booster to the fuel to compensate for the differance and if so how much do i add?

having a 250 XB that has run significant amount of 87 oct I would do the suggestion about drainning, refill with 93 and appropriate kwick klean and baby he heck out of it till i could get someone like Don or at least a good Merc guy to DeCarb and check out the engine from top to bottom. have always been told nothing less than 93 for it to live a long live. that has always made me nervous when fishing areas that had minimal 93 pumps.
