Rick Hale is the man! (long)

Awhile back while I was on convalescent leave I posted about looking for a job. Rick suggested usajobs.com and while searching it also led me to indeed.com. I went on line and submitted a resume for a particular job here at Ft. Sill. 45 minutes after submitting my resume the phone rings and it's the company I just applied for. They asked me to come in for an interview the next day. I agreed but let them know that I wouldn't be available until my transition leave starts on the 23 of Nov. I told the young lady to check with the boss to see if that would be an issue as I didn't want to waste my time or theirs. She came back to the phone and said that she regretted telling me that it would be a problem. I told her that it was fine and that I would continue to check their job postings a little closer to my availability date. I hang up the phone and low and behold the phone rings again ten minutes later. Same lady, same corporation saying that they still wanted me to come in afterall. Went to the interview the next day and was offered the job on the spot. I've accepted the job, but just yesterday got a call from Northrop Grumman to interview for a postition in theire Electronic Warfare division (the job that I've been hoping for). They sent me a Govt. work history report and a application to fill out and told me that they will call to schedule an interview by weeks end. I haven't even taken my uniform off yet and already have a job lined up with other corporations still calling. My wife and I have been praying and it seems to be working. Thanks Rick!!!!

</TD></TR></TABLE>The economy is precisely the reason we are staying here in OK when I retire. At least for the time being. Oklahoma is far from being perfect, but the economy is still fairly strong comparatively. I wouldn't go as far to say that we've been unaffected, but we are living high on the hog compared to the majority of the rest of the U.S.. The wife graduates in Dec. so hopefully she'll find gaining employment as easyy as I have.

Yup Indeed.com is THE place to go if you want a job NOW. Thats where I found mine and I had 2 other jobs offers at the same time and another while I was in the academy.

Congrats on the job Brad. I figured it would work out for you.

I agree 100%.........Lincoln has not seen the same impact that some of the rest of country has......but we have still seen our fair share of it even with my wifes Job.................BUT.............nothing you can really do about it....and it seems that mroe and more Comupter jobs are being outsourced to other countries.

10 years ago they told you to get into computers.......now there saying to find something else since it is one of the lowest paying jobs unless your a Full Time IT guys for a Company......otherwsie your just another # behind the Screen
