    Boat Cover Question??

    What cover to get?
I need to replace my cover for my 2003 Tracker Targa sc18.
My 6 year old Tracker cover ripped in half while towing to MN.

I know Aurora Canvas custom covers are really good ,, But $$$$-- $580.00 to $716.00.

    BPS has a cover--called "perfect fit"..with a 7year warrenty.
    Tracker's cover has a 5 year warrenty..
Both are in the $250 - $300 range.

    So--- BPS or Tracker??

    Thanks,
    Rick

    Re: Boat Cover Question?? (HaleDamage)

Do you keep the boat inside or outside? Are you keeping this boat long term or is a trade in the near future? I believe for the most part you get what you pay for. It will probably be next to impossible for you not to get it from BPS because of the warranty and ease of doing business since you live close by. You can always install the BPS cover and make a road trip, then take it off and put it back on to really get a feel for what their cover is going to be like. My guess is the Aurora cover is going to fit better and have better stitching and padding in all the right places. You might also try a guy in the KC area called Master Stitcher. He is mobile and can build your cover right wherever your boat is. The good thing about that is you can be there to politely look over his shoulder and make sure all the bases get covered appropriately. He did some minor repair work for me once and I was satisfied. His prices at the time seemed pretty reasonable. I think because he is mobile his overhead may be lower which allows for more reasonable pricing. I'm not sure about that, just thinking out loud .

    Re: Boat Cover Question?? (getfished)

I'll be storing my boat outside..
And -- Can't afford a New boat-- so I'll be keeping it for awhile.

I'll most likely go with BPS--

Wow Ryan, That's a good answer. Considering your cover is always out in the elements and your boat NEVER leaves the driveway!

    Re: Boat Cover Question?? (dukhntr)

actually.....your right....and the Cover still holds up as if it was new.....minus some slight discoloration from the sun & dirt from time to time when it doesn't rain.......other than that.....its not hard to Clean my Cover......spray with water....use boat brush w/little bit of soap & scrub it......rise off & I am good to go with letting the Boat sit for another 3-6 months before having to wash the cover again

    Re: Boat Cover Question?? (tritonryan)

BPS Exact fit and boatcovers.com Do Not make a custom cover to fit my boat.
Talked to others that have covers for my boat -- but none of them make one that will work with my Minn Kota Terrova trolling motor with a 60" shaft
Guess I'm going to bite the bullet a get a custom cover from Aurora Canvas.

    http://www.customboatcovers.com/Aurorafire.html

They make the cover to fit your boat after you order it..

    Thaks Rick

    Re: Boat Cover Question?? (tritonryan)

Yes--- Auroras are high $$$$-- I just ordered it their best cover --
They requested some pic's of my boat..
    Also to check some measurements..
It will take about 4 weeks to complete it.
I was talking to Del Rush-- He said --it's not uncommon
to get 10years + out of this fabric I am getting the cover made from.

    Thanks -- Rick
