Seems like about every other ad on Craigslist is a scam. Have bought and sold things off there before, but always do the deal in person. When you try to sell something you instantly get 50 scam e-mails...
I sold my camper on Craigslist and got so many calls I wish I would have had 10 of them to sell. I also looked at, in person, several campers I saw on Craigslist and they definitely weren't scams and were decent, honest folks, so my experience was overall pretty good. You just gotta use the 'ol noggin when it comes to dealing on places like that.
Yup when I sold my Tracker I had like 15 people email me in the first 12 hours. That thing was sold the next morning.
It's no different than eBay: it's just a service and anyone can use it so you're gonna get all types of folks. The good, the bad, and the ugly!

RJ - I put it on hold although it was a hell of a deal!!!!
I decided buying a house makes more sense at this point and I need a three car garage. I found the one I WANTED but the deal if falling though.... the seller forgot to tell me about a few things about the property that would cost me to the tune of $10,000 extra.
So I'm on tho the next one!
