Look on the nose of your lower unit and if it has 4 small holes in the nose cone then you have the low water pickup. I would think your motor would have it. My 2002 225 Optimax has it.
Just bought the housing and haven't seen it yet, I was told it did have the low water pickup. I was wondering if I could plug some of the side water intake holes on this one like people do the tourquemaster ones?

You should have the low water pickups.
The only reason for plugging the side pickups is to prevent air from entering the water pump at high speed or high mounting heights.
It IS acceptable to plug three holes on each side... four at the max.![]()
1/16" x 27 NPT Stainless Plugs are what you use.![]()
