Sea star oil VS regular power steering oil

Does anyone know the difference? I think they are both probably just a hydraulic oil with no extra additives.

Incorrect. Although I'm not "completely familiar" with the "formula" of their oil, I have seen the results of utilizing the "wrong" oil in that system- and you DO NOT want to do it!

    Use ONLY the recommend fluid.

Seastar provides a list of compatible fluids for the hydrauilc steering systems. Most of these are aircraft hydraulic fluids. Go to the website and it will show this. The Mil Spec is the info you are looking for.
