For the guys that paint thier own crankbaits....

I seen at lot of your work on the BBC here, they look good. I'm not going to try and do any of it but I'm one of those that likes to find out how things work or get done.

Say you are want to paint a chat. with a blue back..

Do you start with a chartreuse cb and add the blue? Do you start with a white cb and add all colors? Do/Can you buy unpaint cb's?

    Thanks

i'm no expert but I think it depends on how you want it to Fade.

Chart fading to blue or other way around. Usually you want to set a base coat that will be 60% or more of your body.....then you Blend in what color(s) you want...IE the sides, back, belly, tail.....whatever. the rest of it I have NO CLUE about.

atleast...........thats how it work on painting cars

I agree, Some of the baits look so nice I wouldn't even fish with them.

yes you can buy unpainted cranks, what I do is put a base coat of white, then come back and put my chart down and then put down my blue on the back. If you want the scales on them I do that frist and then come back and put the back on.
Cheaper to keep a kid in tourney fishing than paying attorneys to keep them out of jail !!
