    Drinking and boating

Just read that the Missouri State Water Patrol will be conducting sobriety checkpoints on Smithville Lake and the Missouri River throughout August.

I would think they should spend more time on LOZ, but then they may catch too many

thers been talk of that on LOZ as well as lots of other things to combat the problems with the big boats on LOZ........problem is there isnt enought water patrol to go around on the lake.....most of the time there is normally 2 water dogs up there...holiday weekend there might be 2.......this was what i was told after getting stopped one time just after i bought the boat and didnt have numbers on it and got stopped........out of the hundreds of boats there they stopped me cause i didnt have reg stickers on the boat yet but never got a ticket but they jsut dont have the man power to do anything on LOZ........shame too it would save a lot of lives on the lake thats for sure

I wonder if they will stop a jet ski if they see him weaving across the water line
