    Air Temp Sensor

I thought I would post this for information porposes because the alarms can be confusing and this may help someone someday. On my 300xs I had a alarm sounding, a solid alarm with the smartcraft gages showing a bell and the engine symbol, it sounded after I ran to a fishing spot and sayed there for 15-30 min, whet off after running between 15-60 seconds. It turned out to be the heat sensor in the air box(measure air temp is air box). Had it replaced last weekend and no more alarm yet.

    +1 Good find!

The IAT (Intake Air Temp sensor) is also used in the PCM's computations of fuel delivery.

Only one I've had to replace on a late model had a piece of debris "banging around" inside the intake plenum... might be worth taking a look, just to make sure there is nothing in there that should not be.....

I mentioned the yellow/red plug that sits on top of the fly wheel the the tech, he got his flashlite out and looked into the plenun and found nothing. Good for me. Ran the boat again today with no problems. Tournament tomorrow.
