    Trim Question

Talking about trim range. I have heard discussions about Trim Extenders. Ok, I understand the concept about about trimming up to the trim range, a safety factor. Just what do the extenders do for that range, and why, if it effects that would you want to. I have a hydro-jack, would the extenders be a option. Can you Explain.

    Re: Trim Question (lpolk)

Trim extenders effectively add length to your trim rams allowing you to trim the motor out just a little bit more. The jackplate shouldn't interfere with the installation of trim extenders. If a boat is set up properly you shouldn't need trim extenders. Personally I would look over the rest of my set up if I was experiencing performance issues and try to fix it there rather than slapping on a set of extenders as a quick fix.
