In the Hospital

Travelling for work this week and ended up in St Louis last night. The good thing is I got to see and by a car that I wanted (92 Mazda Miata - one owner 37K miles with a Jackson Racing Supercharger and a matching hard top. The bad thing was at the hotel I started feeling under the weather. Fell asleep on top of the bed a 9:00, woke up at 11:30. Pain in my abdomen was getting worse. Tried to sleep it off, as all that I was planning to do was drive home. When it got to be 4:30 and I couldn't sleep, I gave myself a Google diagnosis of appendicitis. One trip to the emergency room, one CT scan and I was on the operating table by 9:45. So, I am stuck in St Louis hospital tomorrow for sure, maybe not released until Saturday. Hate that it happened away from home, but they are taking good care of me. Security even went out to my truck to retrieved my laptop and he had a charger that would fit my phone so topped off the low battery.

damn John.........sorry to hear that............Glad you were able and Consious enough to do something about it.....some people would not have been able to do whagt you did cause of pain.

It's a good thing you went in quickly. If your appendix ruptures, it can be really serious. I had mine out when I was 9 years old. It was pretty scary to go in the operating room at that age. That was back when they really sliced you open, too.

You will recover very quickly the way they do it now.

Update:

Things went great. Surgery Thursday AM, Drove myself home to NE on Friday AM. Never took a single pain med since the surgery, other than a couple IB's on the way home to prevent swelling. Up and around all weekend and back at work today. Suprised there was no residual pain. Had about a 1 1/2" incision. Can't really even feel it. Wierd.
