Rifle Scope

anybody ever use a Simmons ProHunter 3x9x40 WA scope,, bought one yesterday to drop on my new 17 HMR..

I think those are the scopes that Savage uses in their combos. Typically considered an entry level type scope (I think) My daughter has one on her Savage 270. It's a decent scope, but probably not the best for long range applications.

considering the 17 HMN is only a 100 yard gun , it should work just fine... but it will swat crows at 100 yds ( if you don't have to much of a side wind )
