Don't make me bust out my pitching stick and beat you again

I just ask because it seems like with the info the scammer is asking, nothing bad can be done. As long as you would make sure to not give over the boat until payment is cashed and cleared in your bank account, I don't know whats the harm. Granted is seems obvious this is a scam and not a real buyer but I'm just curious how it works so I don't get ripped ever in the future.

Agreed, you better keep your "scam", "bogus", "run away" comments to your self. I'm guessing we get the picture by now. Unless you want to play the devil's advocate and take a different stand on the issue.

Usually they offer to send you a cashiers check or some other check for the amount + some extra (for your trouble, or sometimes for you to forward to their friend/family member, depends on the scammer). If all goes to their plan you take the cashiers check, cash it, send the product (and the money if they ask you to forward a portion), the check comes back bad and the seller is held responsible. Usually happens on bigger items like vehicles/boats (and the buyer never picks up the said item) but occasionally happens on smaller items so you're out the cash and the item.
