Those monsters must be directly correlated with the increase in the trout population.
When I was growing up in KY, Lake Cumberland was not know as a trophy smallie lake but trout where the name of the game. I never fished it but my brother chased the trout every year but never mentioned the smallies.
Damn wish I would have known.
