Ice storm in Salina!!!

Been reading that Salina area was hit hard........reports of Ivce around 3-4" in some areas.....

90,000 people without power and Westar power claims 63,000 without power as of this morning ......................thats a lot of People without Heat




Westar Energy, the state’s largest electrical provider, reported the bulk of the outages. Spokesman Nick Bundy said about 66,000 of the utility’s 674,000 customers were without power as of 10 a.m. Most of the outages were in Manhattan, Hutchinson and Topeka.

The old part of town looks the worst. With the older bigger trees that came down.

Most of residental Salina is without power. Its kind of odd that a majority of the businesses have power.

Our Concrete plant still has power so thats where I have been keeping warm.

Heis has water comingin his Basement and no electricity to run the wet vac.

And of coarse every generator in town is out.

Now I just lost my Alltel service..

Might be a fun night. Just hope the wind doesn't start blowing.

That's an all to familiar scene. There is a lot of work ahead for allot of people. That everyone can make it through safe.

I can ship a large capacity 12 volt inverter to someone if they need it. It's a 1500 watt continuous, 3500 peak unit that I use to run my trailer winch so it will run some decent sized stuff. Also have a little 400 watt job that will run some lights, etc. If anyone needs it and has some spare 12 volt deep cycle batteries let me know. I can UPS it tomorrow.
