Update on Lawrence Wreck

Well I heard over the weekend from a few more guys what happened. I am sure most of you have heard the whole thing by now but wanted to pass it on.

It was on the Cat Tracker bus. It is a double decker bus and there were people on top of it going through Lawrence. 2 men were standing on top of it when they passed under an overpass. John Green was hit in the head by the overpass at 40mph and was killed. The other guy is critically injured.

John's wife is 8.5-9 months pregnant right now. His funeral will be in Leoti on Tuesday I believe.

Really sad deal. John was a heck of a guy that I had the pleasure to meet when I first joined Alpha Gamma Rho. Haven't seen him for awhile. This really puts things in perspective guys. Nobody ever knows when something can happen. Please pray for his family in this holiday season.

Thats horrible. Pray for his family and especially his wife. I'll have to make some calls as I have some friends in Leoti.

Michael John was one of Delvin's old roommates in KC. I have met him before, seemed like a good guy. Very sad deal, prayers for the families.

Delvin? I know a Delvin in KC what is his last name?

Higginson. Tim, now that you mention that it seems like I might have met him once before.

Thought that was him. Delvin is a heck of a guy. Sad deal all the way around. I have heard that the second guy has died now. Don't know if that is confirmed but it is what I heard.

I figured you would know him Chris. Hope that's not the case with the second guy.

Is the cat tracker bus the one with the music playing and people dancing on it all the time? Usually parked right across the road from the KCIA, on stadium ground? I couldnt imagine what the driver or the rest of the group feels like. Something they will probably never stop thinking about.

That's the one. I'm guessing it won't be at games anymore, going to be a lot different.

I wouldn't ever want to be in that driver's shoes. Constantly thinking what if's for the rest of his life. Sad Sad deal. Something you don't really think about when you are driving though. Standing on a bus puts you at a height that not many overpasses can accomodate. This isn't totally the driver's fault but I would definitely think I wouldn't let someone stand on top of it when it is moving.
