    Saturday at the Range

Saturday I took my daughter (13) to the range. She shot a metric ton of .22 rimfire & then moved up to her Savage .270 deer gun that I bought her last year. Last year she was afraid to fire the gun, so with patience, no pressure and the use of a trusty rimfire as a good instrutional tool she decided it was time to pull the trigger. I was very proud and she is a heck of a good shot!

I gave her a little punch in the arm to let her know how it would sort of feel. She was surprised at the recoil though. I did have her loaded up with Remington managed recoil ammo and that helped.

It's easy to do Tyson. One thing that I have learned is that all your kids really want from you is.... Your time. It doesn’t matter if you’re discussing politics or showing them what a deer rub looks like. If you’re showing an interest in them they will love you for it. Like all of us here I’m an outdoors guy and I have pretty much steered my daughter in that direction which allows me to teach her something and spend time with her doing what I enjoy. I’ve posted this before, but here is where I taught her to throw a T rig in the pool, the next day she caught her first T rig bass.
