    02 Ficht oil recommendation

I had a supply of the Ram oil that was recommended for my FIct engine. I know this is no longe being made and I need to get some more oil. I called several different dealers and go several different opinions as to which oil I should used. Some said the XD50 and some the XD100. What do you guys think. Also i have a little of the Ram oil left in my resovior, so should i wait until this is all used before I add the new oil.

I run nothing but the XD-100, the two oils are compatilble. Just pour in the 100 and go!!! You can buy in bulk from a dealer with your own jug and save a few $$$ per gal.

Run the XD 100 and you will not have carbon buildup problems. If it were mine I would decarb motor and go with the XD 100. I have no experience long term with Amsoil in an Evinrude Ficht engine. JMHO

I am a big fan of AMSOIL and run it in all 3 of my vehicles. I will be putting my totally refurbished 23 Proline with a 0 hour 2004 250 Ficht DI in the water next week. I was orginally thinking of going with Amsoil in the motor. However after searching every discount site I can find I can buy the HD 100 for basically the same price to even a couple $$$ cheaper than the amsoil. Not sure why you want to run the amsoil with the cost being the same as the HD100.

My sentiments exactly!! The cost difference is nil when compared to an oil that will keep your engine clean, or even clean a dirty engine while ya run.....
