    Kill Switch Operation

    1997 Allison XB2003
    1997 Johnson 225hp Venom

When I pull the lanyard, what should happen? Should the key move to off ,and that kills the motor --- OR --- does the key stay in the run position and the motor die?

I think my switch is not working correctly, I want to know how it operates. Before going much further.

    thanks guys..

    Re: Kill Switch Operation (astasoftride)

IF your kill switch clip fastens around the keyswitch, then it turns the key to off when you yank on it. Push the key in partway when clipping it on.

If you have an older style separate kill switch, then pulling the lanyard closes a switch that shorts out your ignition system.
