I have an 03' 200 H.O. I want to get speedometer working again, Hose is fine, it has a little wood way down inside the hole on lower unit. I did the drill bit thing about 2" deep, its still clogged up what else can I do to help break up the wood that is way down inside. Blowed air into it where the hose comes into motor. Can I put a little acid in a syringe and squirt in there to break loose wood. any ideas.
The pickup chamber is only about 1.5" deep. Go too far and you'll be into the LU. Pull the nipple out for the speedo tube and blow back through there.
yes, I have been doing that but I canit get it to break loose I quess over time it has gotten packed out. I will keep spraying water and stuff in it to loosen up the wood and than blow air again, Thanks
Just gonna plug again anyway. Best bet would to be to install a pitot on the transom if you want a speedo.
Ok thanks, If I would of been paying attention it would of not stayed clogged up. I always kept it cleaned out. Here in Louisiana alot of wood everywhere. Thanks again.
