How do you guys rig up for live bait...I've never did it but I've always wanted to get my dad down there and wack on some with some live minners

I am by all means no expert with live bait. This was my first time using it. But I used a 3/0 Gammy Octo Circle Hook. A #3 split shot about 16" up from the hook. Dropped of the side of the boat and very slowly trollled or let the wind blow. We fished in 25-35' of water.
Someone with more live bait expertise may be able to provide you with more info.
Flourocarbon is a must for live bait, 8lb is what I like to use, some people use 10
