Had to hit a lake before the deep freeze hit and dropped the water temp outa the 50s for the next couple months, heard Laurel was doin good so down I75 we went. Only fished about 3 hours and tried something new and wound up with a keeper ky,a good largehead and broke off a nice smallie that came up and ran on water tryin to throw the bait for a good 15 seconds afterwards. Fished Marsh and Craigs creeks and all fish and bait was found in 40-50ft of water. If there was no bait, we didn't get bit. Water temp was 51-52 up in the creeks and 50ish out main lake.Can't say what the ones that did bite bit cause of a promise to a local friend,sorry
