IU certainly deserved to win this game. I can only imagine that you are feeling much like we did in '92 when we felt like UK had arrived back on the scene.
Although I never want to lose, UK needed this very much. So for that, I reluctantly say, "Thanks."

My thoughts exactely James, i hate to get beat but sometimes getting beat is good medicine![]()
Its definitely what they needed but it could have come against a better team.
I hope they made Jones and Calipari walk back to Lexington.

Charlie...really???
Why do you wish it was a better team that beat them? So they could lose by 20 or more points? Wow...I really hope I never get to the point that I can't accept the fact that we got beat.... You can come up with scenarios and IU fans can come up with scenarios, and when it's all over...IU won. Period.

I think Charlie was trying to say he would have rather the loss been to another team, someone who isn't as big of a rival as IU is. I don't think he was taking away from IU winning the game, but I could be wrong.![]()
Congrats on the win.
5 out of the last 21 years. I guess IU can expect another win in 4 or 5 years.
I root for the Cats and anyone playing any team from Indiana.

A loss to a better team like UNC or Kansas would be acceptable. Getting beat by IU or Loserville is a slap in the face. They both may be getting better but still aren't the caliber of program UK is. We'll see where everyone lands at in March.
Also, you wouldn't see a better team like UNC, Kansas, or other top team storm the court after a win. IU acted as if is were a National Championship game.

Agreed. Congrats to IU on the win. They beat UK in every way and deserved it. But you guys are a Top 5 all-time program. Why do you act like you just won a National Championship after winning a home game in December? If y'all are as good as you say you are, you would treat that like just another win.![]()

I grew up a Hoosier fan and always will be. After attending and graduating from UofL, I also became a Cards fan. Hoosier fans like myself were ecstatic for the win based on a few things. We knew that a big signature win was on the horizon with Crean building a team as he has and the addition of Zeller. The fact that it came against UK was reason enough to jump and holler with friends after the drought against you guys. The fact that it came against UK when they were ranked #1, was reason to celebrate. Hoosier fans have sat back for many years watching and listening to the loyal Big Blue Nation annoyingly singing their praise for their team, now IU has stepped up and has rekindled the fire. I feel there are much better things to come for both teams. It's going to be exciting!
Anyone that has ever stepped foot on the IU campus, knows a few things about it... Party, Basketball, and Party... Usually in that order, haha. Assembly Hall was electric and was likely an unforgettable experience for anyone in the place. I was jacked watching it from home let alone if I would have been there. Congrats to IU! Now I'm looking forward to Dec. 31st. What a great year for fans of all area teams.![]()

What's wrong with team spirit? If you had beaten IU and we were ranked #1 you can't tell me you wouldn't storm the floor. Sounds like sour grapes to me. And yeah, you might win the national championship in March but you'll NEVER get that win back.![]()
We'll take what we can get when we can get it.
I have been a UK fan for 26 years. We have beaten top teams in that time. One of them being last week when we beat the media appointed super-team UNC. I cannot remember UK fans EVER storming the court. If you're one of the top 5 programs ever, maybe you should act like you've won some big games. Not a mid-major getting their first trip to the tournament.
No sour grapes. And I'm not saying IU fans shouldn't be excited. I was extatic when Davis blocked that shot against UNC. Congrats to IU. I love it when the top programs are good. I also like it when the top programs behave like top programs should.
The thing that bugs me the most is the articles, postings and chat forums of the way the IU fans acted in Bloomington towards Cats fans. There are numerous stories of people being spit on, cars keyed, cars painted, threats, beers poured on people and many others. This is just plain ridiculous. Myself and friends have been to numerous UK games at many places and have never been treated the way these people are saying they were treated in Bloomington. There is always some good ribbing going on but never physical threats and this type of crap. Even at football games you'll have the other teams fans walk through and there will be some ribbing but usually ends with a hand shake, a beer and a good luck.
If this is the way IU wants to celebrate then so be it but I say UK drops them from the schedule. The fans don't realize that players could get hurt when the storming of the court happens. Celebrate in the stands or outside later but stay off the court.
