I have been looking at the Indiana DNR's website and cannot find anywhere that talks about what dates their Bass Season is. Is there a season with a start date and end date, or is bass season open year round there?

No closed season. We can bass fish any time we want.

I wished Michigan would take a serious look at this. IMO....90% of bass fisherman release what they catch anyway. Plus today's boats have better livewell systems in them and most guys are more aware of fish care than they were 20 + years ago.
Not like MI guys aren't fishing for bass during the closed season anyway. I don't really understand why have a closed season, other than it cuts down on tournaments in the spring. Probably also helps cut down on the out of state people coming up and keeping coolers full of bass during the spawn.

I believe I remember reading an article that discussed catch and release fishing during the spawn having more impact in short season areas. Your DNR may be able to explain why they have the season.
Not enough bass in Indiana waters to worry about a season! lol![]()
