    Green River Lake Report

Went today & caught several nice Largemouth. Main lake laydowns that the brush ran out pretty deep were pretty good & also inside bend bluff banks. Fish were holding off of the second ledge of most bluffs anywhere from 25 to 45Ft deep. Watermelon Red Sweet Beavers texas rigged with a 3/8 oz. weight & rattle attached. Just a little Chartreuse dye on the very ends of flappers. Also had two pretty good keepers hit the beaver swimming it back to boat after coming out of laydowns. They ran under boat & I dropped down & they came back & nailed it. All fish were pretty aggressive.

Nice report! Sounds like I may need to head up there for a short trip soon.

I fished Green on 10-31 from 10am until dark. With the wind blowing the way it did I just knew they would bite shallow. I wasted 3-4 hours trying to find a bite and only had one 15" fish. I started point hoping the last couple of hours before dark and managed to put together 5 more keepers and a couple of shorties. Most fish were 13"-17" long and all were caught on a jig.

On a side note...I got a good look at a nice buck trailing a doe in the grass area above the Holmes Bend parking lot. I think it was the same buck I saw in velvet a few months ago. Main frame 8 with a 4" kicker for a total of 9 pts about 18" wide. Will be a good one next year.
