Barkley Lodge to start selling beer

My already favorite Ky State Park Lodge is going to get that much better!



FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Coming soon to some Kentucky state parks: alcohol.

Five state parks recently received licenses to sell alcoholic beverages.

Beer, wine and liquor will be served in restaurants at General Butler, Jenny Wiley and Lake Barkley state resort parks. Beer-only will be served at the golf courses at My Old Kentucky Home and John James Audubon state parks.

The Kentucky Tourism Cabinet says alcohol sales will be phased in over the next few weeks.

There are no plans to expand the alcohol sales, because all the other state parks are in "dry" counties.

That will be good, bring in a lot of folks who would go some where else to buy beer. They need to do that at all the state parks.

Maybe they'll try and annex KY Dam Village into Calvert City

Don't have to, there is a brown sack carring policy in effect at Ky Dam

Go there a couple of times a year. In fact going Labor day and in October..Will be nice to have a cold one after a day of fishing! In the past year they have opened a couple of beer stores in Cadiz so I guess the whole area is looking for more revenue.
