It says in the article that the cop was standing on the Belle of Louisville dock. That area of the river is off limits to all boat traffic unless locking through - he's an idiot for even being in that area!

I know of someone who was fishing just in TN a few years ago when the agreement was out and you had to have a TN license to fish TN water between the bridges on KY lake, who acted like he didn't see the enforcement boat and just kept heading north untill the boat was out of sight. The boats TN had then wouldn't run much if any over 50 and I don't think they followed over a couple of miles.

I saw them chase a boat a couple weeks ago for a couple miles before the boater even realized they were after him.

Yea it would be one thing to run on one of the local lakes...at least in indiana they are in jon boats with little 50 hp motors. The only "police" boat I ever see on that part of the river is a Coast Guard like boat with two huge outboards. What an idiot.

You should see the 1998 32 ft Fountain speed boat with twin 502's that the Louisville Metro has. It was donated by a very wealthy and successful lawyer in town. I found record of the donation one time, and I think it was valued at around $80,000
