2003 200 HO FICHT RAM

I'm thinking of buying a boat with a 2003 200HO FICHT RAM; I've never owned anything but Mercury and was looking for some input. I know power head was replaced in 07 under warranty. Anything to look at before i buy and is this a strong motor?
I had a 03' 200 EFI 3.0 Litre Mercury how does the 03' Evinrude HO Ficht Ram stackup compared to the 3.0 litre Mercury?

New powerhead in 07' and motor has sit for last year and a half. I'm going to have it checked out before buying by mechanic; what do you guys think?<br /><br />

I have an 03 225 DFI and it's the strongest, most efficient motor I've ever owned. The 200 225 blocks are 3.3 L and have a lot of low end grunt. Relative few problems with mine, for 8 years. That 200 HO should put out around 220 hp. As with any new engine, have it checked out, and get the dealer to get a printout of the history of the engine.

I had SeaTow owner who runs 6 boats in his fleet, tell me the '03-'04 Ficht motors were the best of any brand he had ever used. He said he has absolutely no brand loyality, just going with the best deal every 2 years. Has had good and bad in most all models, but said the latter model Fichts would be the best. For what it is worth he has not had a lot of luck with the larger Etecs, meaning the 225hp and larger motors. Said the 150s seem to be very good motors.
