Someone please teach me how to fish

I took about 5 years off from fishing due to a change in career etc and apparently now im awful. Just wondering if anyone in the louisvlle southern indiana area that fishes a lot would be willing to let me tag along. i have a pretty nice boat that we could use or be more than happy to spot fuel etc. for someone else if they take me out. i wanted to be back to fishing tournaments by the end of the summer but at this rate i dont think ill be doing anything but embarrassing myself.

Sounds like you might have fun fishing with us on Wed. nights this summer.

We fish about every other Wed. night during the summer out of Cox Park. $20 per boat entry, winner take all. It's always a good time, and the winner gets the all important bragging rights. Usually take off at 5:30 or 6:00 and get back in around dark. Average about 5 or 6 boats, but have had as many as 10 or 11. Probably won't start until mid April or early May...just depends on the river level and whether it's settled down yet or not.

You might consider coming down here to Ky Lake and taking one of my teaching trips with me.

well pm me some prices. im trying to do this all on a budget..thus why im suggesting we either just use my boat or ill pay for fuel for someone else. i just dropped money for this boat, new trolling motor, and 898c all to blow the lower unit thanks to a less than comparable dealership so money is slightly an issue i guess. i just need someone i can sit in the back of the boat with and pick up what he is fishing according to water conditions, time of year, and technique mainly.

    Re: (SkeeterHBK)

No need to pm...my prices are public record. My price for teaching trips is same as all my full day trips...300.00.

It was just a suggestion. Sorry to hear about your luck with the boat. I certainly think if you feel you can learn as much or more from sitting in the back of a boat watching someone else fish and do it cheaper, then that is what you should do.

im not that deprived. i have been doing a lot of reading. just finished the bass anglers almanac...one of the best books ive ever read on fishing. its not the stupid well when the weather is this i throw this kinda thing, its the science behind why bass do what they do when they do it. very good book. but yea i have been thinking about getting a mag subscription just havent got around to it. my boat is keeping me from using a guide, besides there is a big difference between someone putting you on fish and someone showing you how to read a lake and find where fish will be.

well most you wouldnt waste so much time and money fishing tournaments and talking about it on here. i just like learning from people that are obviously better than me, thats how i got into the profession im in now and how i learned so much about it. working under someone else...three people to be exact.

This is why you would want to take Dave Stewarts class and go out with him. I've went out with Dave multiple times and taken his class and doing so has cut the learning curve by an easy 75%.

Dave just doesn't take you out and catch fish he'll show you how to determine where and what to fish based on the conditions. He will also show you what baits and techniques work for those conditions.
