    Got buzzed at Taylorsville

Went out on Taylorsville for the day yesterday. Went after the catfish and brought home a few blues and channels for dinner. They were surprisingly shallow, all at a depth of about 7 or 8 ft.

Had a low flying sea plane at about 100 ft off the water come in and buzz us around 7 pm. Surprised the heck out of me! He was below the trees to where we couldn't see him coming. I could hear it and thought that it sounded like a fan boat coming...never dreamed it would be a low flying plane! He made a 180 over us and then touched down right beside us. It was awesome! Wished I could have gotten to the camera faster! He went on and later made another pass over us. It sure looked like fun! Anyone else ever see that plane out there?

    Here's some photos:

Had 1 come from behind and land in front of me at Nolin 1 day. Talk about scaring the heck out of you. I guess the guy owned a houseboat down there. Would see his plane at the end of the dock every once and a while.

Yep. Started off using whole ones (about 4" long) but never got any big bites and had trouble hooking up. Started taking the heads and and tails off and just using the middle section/guts and had much better luck. With the whole ones, they were just grabbing it and swimming off, but with the smaller pieces they actually inhaled it.

The trick was to use a single split shot and letting it slow fall. There for a while the bites were coming pretty quick! Wished I would have started off with the smaller pieces.

Glad to see you learned how to throw that net. Next time I'm charging for lessons. I was half buzzed on the first lessons so you can have those for free!

I need those lessons again.....I forgot already. Luckily the bait was thick enough that my poor throwing skills were good enough to catch a few. I'm not telling how many unsuccessful tries it took!

That lake is ridiculous with shad. I took my 8' net out there one time when I first bought that Tracker and threw on a school to use for live bait....The dang net was so full I had a hard time pulling it up! It seemed like thousands of 2" fish in it. The lake is slap full of those "net wreckers"!!!!
