    IN/KY Rally VI, KY Lake

This was one of the best yet. The fishing was awesome and the company even better.

I want to thank everyone who helped out. Daniel, Joe, Charlie, Jason, Ben, Craig & Dawn, Thad. You all made it the great time that it was!

Thanks to all of the sponsors! Navionics,Charmer Baits, Wee Vee, Iguana Grafix, Hag's Tornado, Slong's, Blue Water LED, The Cabin Bait & Tackle, Dave Stewart's Bass Buster Guide Service, Mike's Pro Bass Gear, Jet-A Marina, you all made it great! We encouraged everyone to use your businesses anytime they get the opportunity to buy fishing or boating products!

We had great jackpot tourneys on Thursday and Friday, congrats to Daniel for winning both days, but the first he won all alone. Remember Daniel, there is nothing wrong with Silver! Congrats to Daniel also for winning the 3-day cumulative and the progressive big bass.

As for Saturday's Rally Tournament, we had a record 30 teams show up and fish and everyone caught fish! Congrats to Zach G. and Drew on their win!

Thanks to Eddie Goode and Jeff Boone who donated their third place winnings to Matt Alliston's fund for our fallen Georgia Deputy. I want to thank everyone who helped out with that also.

Zach G. and Drew, who won the rally tourney, also won Dave Stewart's traditional side pot and donated the proceeds to the Deputy fund as well. We awarded them with the Rally Banner signed by everyone in place of the money they would have received.

Thanks Dave Stewart for sharing your knowledge and your lake with us for the week and for setting up the side pot tourney as well

It was great to see old friends and just as great to meet new ones. We are family here and it is good to see how well everyone is treated when we get together and how friendly this group is.

    Thanks Everyone!

Pics will be posted as people get home and settle in!

Drew (drewboy32) and I were lucky enough our secondary pattern held up. We could only catch one fish deep. I really enjoyed the dinner next time I want to come early and get to spend a little more time getting to know everyone.

Re: IN/KY Rally VI, KY Lake (Mike Daleo)

Had a great time and it was good to see a lot of ol friends and meet some new ones.

Wish I had been able to come over on Thursday and Friday as I normally do but had to work to make up trips lost due to the flood.

Kyle and I would like to personally thank Craig and Dawn for the Knob Creek and Craig's homemade brandy... We both paid for it on Saturday but had a great time on Friday night....

Undoubtably there were more boats than I can ever remember seeing on the lake on a non holiday weekend before Labor Day. By the time Kyle and I got on the water (around 8:00...something to do with the Knob Creek and Brandy the night before), there was 3 boats on every ledge and point fishing and 200 pleasure boats trying to run over us.... Since we were not seriously fishing anyway and people were trying to run us over we got off the water around 11:00 so we could get a nap before the weigh-in (probably something to do with the Knob Creek and Brandy again also... )

Was back out working yesterday and not nearly as bad out there for boats although the big cruisers and pleasure boats were out early on Sunday morning which is unusual. Was doing a tourney prep yesterday running ledges on the north end and we were able to fish 12 prime ledges on the run and gun and caught fish on 11 of them real quick....gives you an idea of the difference between how many anglers were out there Sunday vs Saturday.

Was glad to see some good fish were caught by the rally Saturday and everyone was safe.

I heard some folks talking about this at the weigh-in and I totally agree that we should give some serious thought about having the rally tournament on Friday rather that Saturday in the future....would be a lot less hectic on the water for sure.

Thanks also to everyone that worked hard to put the Rally together and make it a great success....

I would hate to see it on Friday....would put us working people completely out of it... Not that we had a chance anyways though

The last weekend in April might be a better alternative than a Friday tourney...might be fewer dead fish too.....

That was the weird part our dead fish was caught on a crankbait. when we put him in the box there was a little blood from him, (he wasn't caught deep or deep in the mouth or under tounge) next thing we know he is dead. I haven't ever lost a fish with the air intakes my livewells have. it was weird.

zach those girls don't live very long in the wells this time of year. too tired from spawning. Right now is the worst time for fish kills in livewells.

Post spawn fish are easily stressed and worn out. That had to be why they were dying.

Not all were post spawn - two of them had eggs

Our limit came from 12' deep. Four floated up but were acting lively. I had ice and rejuvinate in the wells. I just didn't undestand it. Both of our big fish were post spawn

if you look at the pic above it makes sense, those four fish had bloody tails, the big fish was a post spawner.

Food for thought. sorry for the pun

I am sure the fish that had died would have made some of the people that were fishing on the dock at the ramp very happy. It sucks to see dead bass floating in the harbor.I am sure if you asked anyone around fishing, they would have taken them.

    I'm all for a Friday T.

Despite the fact that I'm a working people and have to use vacation days to get to KY, I still think it would be better to have less boat traffic out there.
