    Lexington Boat Show

To say the least, I wasn't impressed! There was what appeared to be 3 dealers that sold Bass Boats , a few RV/camper gigs, only 3 booths that had tackle to look over and that about summed it up.

I did spend some time talking to the Bullett rep about their boats. I had never looked inside one before up close like that. I did like how the 4 compartments were lined up behind the seats. The deck was WAY to narrow for my likings though. After 10-15 minutes of talking with the fella, I left knowing that my Ranger (and every other bass boat in there for that matter) was a POS compared to ANY Bullet ever made!

I'm not a fan of sales reps that trash other products to make theirs appear better and worse part was he knew I owned a Ranger b/c that's the first thing he asked me.

Pitt. Marine was set up with some nice boats but I was kind of shocked and disappointed they didn't have a new Z521 for people to take a gander at. Hey Mike...They had a boat with the rub rail lighting there that was really getting lots of att.

Other than that, there wasn't much there. I guess it was $7 of entertainment but I was not impressed at all.

Maybe I should come to Lexington next year and show em how it's done. I swear, greed ruins more good shows every year.....

I've been to that show once and won't go back. At least they had some tackle there, they didn't have any at all the year I went.

I'm sorry - that's unfortunate that it happend for you and your boat. I will be helping out Bullet on Saturday, but I won't be bashing your Ranger or any other boat for that matter. I will gladly tell you what I personally like about a Bullet. Hope anyone that can will stop by. I'll be in the UK/Bullet shirt. You won't be able to miss me.

I'm certain it wasn't Tom from Bullet boats....he doesn't play the ''bash the other boats'' game...sounds like a dealer trying to sell a boat to me.

Maybe it wasn't greed. Maybe it was the economy that affected vendors, like you posted on your website.

Re: Lexington Boat Show (Chief Paduke)

Just wondering...are you the guy that was asking about the fuel mileage of a Mercury because you weren't happy with the mileage you were getting out of your HPDI? Were you there on Thursday? If so...just to set some things straight because you may not have known...you DID NOT talk to a Bullet Rep (Tom did not get there until Friday) and you DID NOT talk to the Bullet dealer. You must have talked to someone that was helping at the show but you didn't talk to me (I also helped work the show). Sorry that it turned out that way for you. I live close to Ky/Barkley and if you are ever down that way with an empty seat...maybe we could hook up for some fishing and would be happy to take mine. Bullets bring a lot of GREAT things to the table for a fisherman...but certainly no more than any other top brand boat...different features...but not more in most all aspects. I would be the first to admit they are CETAINLY NOT for everyone. Again...truly sorry for your experience...that is unfortunate. I would certainly recommend taking some time to go talk to the dealer about Mercurys and /or Bullets. You can get all the information you want from him...including a really good demo ride from someone who knows A LOT about the boats/motors. Steve

As a former Bullet dealer there are 2 common threads I've found with people that don't like Bullets... They have never owned one and they have never even rode in one. So if I took that postion, I guess I don't like several brands of boats and I'm not sure why either Also, if there is not enough deck space on a 21RDC one might consider going on a major diet.

Hey...I am on a diet! Lost 17lbs so far!

I didn't say I didn't like Bullet boats if that's how it was taken. I've actually never climbed around in one or ridden in one and I did like a lot of things about it. I did however think the front decks were too narrow for my likings. That's just personal preference I reckon.

I want to clarify that the guys I talked to weren't rude. They were just very proud of their product and truly believed it was better than others. Maybe I interpreted it the wrong way? The "pitch" just seemed that Bullet could do "x" and other brands couldn't on many scenarios given. I hope my comments didn't offend anyone and maybe should have been worded different. I do look forward to a ride in a Bullet one day and a day of fishing out of one.

I plan on having my boat for several more years due to a lot of situations but $$ being the biggest. I didn't do a lot of shopping before purchasing my boat as I should have and like to ask a lot of questions regarding other boats so that I may make a more informed decision on my next purchase. I do love my boat and set up regardless what name is on the side and got what I thought was a great deal on it which is why I purchased it.

I apologize if what I said offended anyone. I wasn't trying to knock the boat or the people representing it and realize it came off that way....

Matt, ANYTIME you want to go in a ride in a 21 foot Bullet, let me know. I'm in Frankfort nearly everyday with the legislative session and will be happy to bring a 21XD down one day. I live in Georgetown, work in Lexington the rest of the time.

I could stand to lose 17 lbs. myself! I'm 241 lbs. Thankfully it's spread out over 6'4" so it doesn't look too bad except for the spare tire area. But really riding in one will tell you what you need to know

I think you took my attempt at sarcastic humor out of context. But in all fairness, I will do what ever is necessary to bring the people and vendors in, even if it is at the sake of money. How my show is perceived is far more important to me than how many booths I can fill with vendors who do not belong at a fishing show, or how much money is involved.

I am sorry you took offense to it, but some things are true whether you believe them or not.

Don't go changing your initial gut feeling from the boat show due to internet panties in a wad. joe blow ran xyz boat in the ground to try to sell you an abc boat, nothing new to boat sales, chevy dealers run fords into the ground, its just what some salesmen choose to do. With new boat sales being as awesome as they've been in the last two years I'm surprised he didn't try to throw in a blowie with a new sale.
