Evinrude 115 making some noise sometimes

I have a 97-?? Evinrude 115 ( E115GLEDR ) that make's noise sometime's
It crank's up fine,,iding is great,, when I leave the ramp it seems fine, I run a mile or to still seems fine I fish for a while, maybe troll with the new SI then back to the ramp on the way I start to hear a noise like an exhaust leak it get louder and louder,, if I trim the motor down it all most go' away
I rented I compression gauge from AZ and I think something was wrong with it all cylinders where about 40 psi
It has lost no MPH,, it doesn't smoke,,
? can it have an exhaust leak ?

Has the lower unit been off recently? There are two rubber gaskets that are on the exhaust shoe that seal the exhaust tuner and the lower unit. One of those could be missing or the shoe itself could have been left off after service. Kind of hard to tell behind a keyboard with out seeing/listening to it. Could have a cracked exhaust tuner too.

I bought the boat about 3 month ago and it ran great till about the last 3 time's out, when the sound started
The foot was replaced about a year ago I was tolded
Will a cracked exhaust tuner hurt the motor if I run it?

I would get it checked out to see if it is the exhaust tuner.
